Q: For about a month or more now, I have been experiencing shoulder discomfort (not necessarily pain) under my right shoulder blade area. I have the almost constant need to "pop" it, and can hear/feel several little pops when i tense my shoulder blade. What could be going on? Do I need to see a doctor or a chiropractor or something?
A. Simple bursitis – see a doctor. You may need either cortisone, or a combination anti-inflammatory and moderate course of exercise therapy.
why does my back have so many knots inside the shoulder blades?
Q: i have these knots in my back that hide deep down in my shoulder blade area.some times i can get some one to rub them, and if they do a good job they pop,and i feel dizzy, and warm.they don’t truely go away, and once they come to the surface they hurt even more.now I’m allways tense, can’t help it,if i relax my head hurts most of the time.so i think my question is why is it that this knotes love me so much that they don’t go,but hate me so much that i feel hurt, sad, and now confused?
A. most likely you do have muscle tension in the back as you suggested. try doing some push ups real push ups . another thing to try is to have a shower a very very hot shower then same shower switch to cold then hot and keep on doing it this will make the muscles tighten and relax over the counter muscle relaxants are good to try. having a massage is great too as are whirlpools and sauna’s top all that off with sex and you should feel better . i hope all of this works for you and you feel better soon
Why Am I getting this Tingly feeling on my upper back?
Q: I’ve had this feeling for about two months now. it doesn’t hurt or anything. and its only in a small part of my back. my upper right shoulder blade area. there is not numbness or anything, and it doesn’ hurt. It kinda feels like when your foot falls asleep, except on a much smaller scale. it comes and goes everyday. does anyone know what it could be at all?
A. I have a lot of back/spine problems and this happens to me also, although I also have pain along with it. My best guess would be that you have a pinched nerve somewhere in your neck or mid to upper back/spine. There are thousands of nerves stemming from the nerve roots and the effects can pop up in some of the most annoying and odd places. If it really bothers you I suggest you see an orthopedist to get a firm diagnosis. A regular x-ray will show only the skeletal bones and a MRI will show the soft tissues, which is where this problem will be found. Good luck!
Small kink in upper back underneath shoulder blade?
Q: So basically for years now, ive been having this occasional kink or sometimes stabbing feeling in the same area, around my shoulder blade i guess it is. Its like a little pop. It could be from lifting weights like i just did now that inspired me to write this, or just randomly sometimes. Any help short of visiting a doctor?
A. Take up a daily regimen of stretching every muscle in your body, including your back.
Avoid weighted exercises (or any exercises in fact) that cause that kink or pop to happen. My shoulders do a weird pop type thing if I lift them out to the sides holding weights so I just avoid that particular exercise and work out my shoulders using slightly different exercises so that doesn’t happen. Just keep working out and find ways around this problem you are experiencing and find other ways of working those same muscles, ways that won’t exacerbate this popping problem.
